Beloved Parish,
As we step into February, a month often associated with love and warmth in the midst of the winter's chill, I find myself reflecting on the profound love that Christ has for each of us, and the love that we are called to share with one another. It’s a time to reflect on the warmth and light that our faith brings into our lives, especially in these colder months. Let's embrace this season with open hearts, finding joy and purpose in our journey together.
Celebrating All Forms of Love This Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day often brings thoughts of romantic love, but let's remember the broader, all-encompassing love that Jesus exemplified. It is a love that reaches out to neighbors, friends, and those in need. This month, I encourage you to perform acts of kindness, perhaps writing a note of encouragement or making a phone call to someone who may feel isolated. Let's spread love in its most inclusive and Christ-like form.
A Season of Reflection: Ash Wednesday and Lent
The season of Lent commences on February 14th, ushered in by the observance of Ash Wednesday. This day serves as a poignant reminder of our mortal nature and our profound reliance on divine grace. We will gather for a special service, providing a sacred space for prayer, contemplation, and the traditional imposition of ashes. The Lenten period is a time dedicated to spiritual deepening, and I warmly invite each of you to participate.
Bible Study Series: “The Cross Walk—A Lenten Bible Study for Adults”
"The Cross Walk" is a Lenten Bible study series designed to deepen understanding and reflection on the journey of Jesus Christ to the cross. This study is not only a journey through scripture but also an invitation to experience the profound implications of Christ's sacrifice and love in our own lives.
Expressing Gratitude
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers and ministry leaders. Your dedication and service are the heartbeat of the church. I pray that February be a month where we not only celebrate love in all its forms but also embrace the opportunities, we must show that love in action. As always, my door is open for anyone in need of pastoral care or just a chat.
Peace and Love,
Amber, Student Minister
